Civility

Where has civility gone? When did we stop listening to each other? Why is there so much anger?

It used to be assumed that members of the opposing party was a person of good will–just a different philosophy or approach to addressing the nation’s problems and challenges of the day. Through debate, discussion and discourse, compromise would be reached and the people’s work would move forward.

Now, the rhetoric is personal and mean spirited on both sides of the aisle. No longer can you disagree with your own party without fear of retribution and attack.

Let’s revert back to when we listened to our better natures and embraced one another in the spirit of our shared humanity and good will.
